Philosophy
Until we finish the much anticipated DakotaWomen Manifesto, you can peruse a short summary of our governing philosophy below:
*DakotaWomen blog is an independent media source providing an alternative, women-specific voice in the South Dakota blogopshere which informs, educates, and empowers while openly embracing honesty and humor (and maybe a little irreverence and snark).
*DakotaWomen is a collective of native South Dakotans and activists united by a fundamental belief in women’s autonomy. We are pro-woman, pro-choice, and pro-equality.
*We are four women with four different brains and diverse opinions on many issues.
*We are non-partisan, though our contributors all have their own (generally liberal, feminist) political ideology.
*Though supportive of and involved in many local and national organizations, DakotaWomen is not affiliated with anyone and posts represent only the views of their authors. While DakotaWomen is always open to tips and information, we do not accept requests for specific posts, talking points, or take marching orders from anyone.
*We welcome discussion in our comments section. We condemn censorship and strongly support freedom of political speech, however, we do reserve the right to delete any public comments that are threatening, harassing, libelous, or nonsensical (the definitions of which are within our discretion). Anonymous comments are currently permissible if not abused.
